Fast Five Review

This is what a big time action blockbuster should be. Respectable story, great characters, amazing action sequences, and awesome locations. Paul Walker, Vin Diesel, and Jordana Brewster all return to make the fifth installment of the series the best one by far. By this point in the series each of these actors truly embody the characters that they are playing because they have so much experience with them. The family atmosphere that these three create in the movie is really the center of the movie. They are in it for each other and will do whatever it takes to keep each other alive and safe. Walker and Diesel are each very good in this movie and the addition of The Rock was a great call by the producers and director. All of the supporting players are also pretty solid and each play an important roll in the movie.

There is not a lot of subtext in this movie and therefore this review may not be as long as some of the others. The action in the movie is off the charts crazy. There is almost no CGI in the movie and that makes this movie superior to most action movies by default, add all of the other elements together and this is a great action movie. The vault scene is worth the price of admission alone along with the flavela chase scene. The action sequences are really well done and you can tell the director and stunt coordinator took their time in mapping out every detail of the sequences and that makes everything in the movie more genuine.

All in all just see the movie. It is big, over the top, and fantastic. This is a fun action movie that has a solid story, interesting character, and some of the best action filmed to date. If you only like serious movie then you will not like this movie but if you are an action movie fan then this is right up your alley.
